DR. CLAY CARMICHAEL

MEET CLAY
Dr. Carmichael recently retired as the Principal at Pedro Menendez High of 17 years. Also, an adjunct professor at the University of North Florida recently honored as Adjunct Professor of the Year 2023.
Has been recognized with several awards, including Principal of the Year in St. Johns County, Florida, Literacy Principal of the Year, and the Dr. Brian Dassler Award.
His educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture specializing in Animal Science from the University of Florida, a Master's in Educational Administration from Valdosta State University with add on course work in Secondary Science, and a Doctorate from the University of North Florida.
He has also received extensive training with the International Baccalaureate Program and has taught in China in addition to consulting work with the US Military.
Dr. Carmichael grew up on a family- owned farm in the Panhandle region of Florida.
He attended Florida Public schools from 1971-1982.
He has been a resident of St. Johns County for more than 20 years.
He is a parent of two daughters, one of which attends Hartley Elementary and the oldest receiving United States Naval Academy Midshipman the USN Academy Summer 2024.
Dr. Carmichael’s wife, Bridget, is a highly qualified retired St. Johns County elementary school as well as Catechism Teacher for the Diocese of St. Augustine.
